Su Mannau Cave

The Su Mannau cave, near Iglesias in southern Sardinia, is not located in just any old territory, but in the Sulcis Iglesiente, which is among the oldest areas in Europe born 500 million years ago. Over time, water has carved out this cave, which is still changing today. From the red of the walls to the clarity of the lakes to the transparent crystals, visiting it will be a fascinating experience.

Two streams, the Placido and the Rapido divide it into two parts, of which only the first can be visited with its own speleological and archaeological area.

Traces can be found of a Nuragic temple and the discovery of oil lanterns links the site to water cult rituals.
