Travelling with dogs

Viaggiare con i cani è diventato ormai, e fortunatamente, una cosa sempre più facile e comune. In Sardegna i cani sono ben accolti, ma si chiede, come d’altronde ovunque, che siano portati al guinzaglio e che, giustamente, si raccolga i loro bisogni per depositarli negli appositi cestini.

Viaggiare con i cani in aereo

Viaggiare con i cani e portare così il proprio cane in Sardegna in aereo è certamente possibile, ma dovete attenervi alle regole della compagnia aerea scelta. Le regole variano da compagnia a compagnia ed è meglio informarsi prima. Certe compagnie low cost non trasportano animali, o li trasportano solo in cabina (animali fino a 10 kg) , oppure solo in stiva.

Fortunately, ferry companies have adapted, and it is no longer heard of leaving our four-legged friends in cold cages outside, as it used to be. In fact, now they offer cabins with linoleum flooring specifically to allow our faithful companions to travel with us.

Viene richiesto sempre il libretto sanitario di ogni cane, con tutte le vaccinazioni richieste in regola.

Portare i cani in spiaggia

There are free beaches where dogs are allowed. In other areas, it is necessary to adhere to the regulations of the respective municipality. Walks on the beach with our four-legged friends are allowed after 8:00 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m.

L’Olbia airport is the first airport in Italy that created a relax area for dogs, inside boarding area (after sefaty controls).

In these areas our furry friend can refresh and relax himself before facing the flight. This initiative goes towards an increasing number of passengers that travel with their four legged friends. The area is 60m2 where they can find water to drink and to refresh himself, other than a play area for relaxing himself.
